Cleansing of the mind

My doctor didn’t prepare me at all for the recovery from my pacemaker swap out last Friday; I should have asked more questions ahead of time & not rushed through my appointment; lesion learned.

But I adapt & learned a few things in the process.

“No shower until next Thursday”. I’ve got this. What’s the big deal? I can’t drive, I am not going anywhere, so what’s the big deal?

Have you ever had to go 6 nights without a shower (and had a roof over your head? homeless has come very close to me; in a future writing)

None of us go would go without unless ABSOLUTELY necessary, yet we don’t give a second thought, much of the time, to cleanse our minds, hearts & souls.

The act of taking shower is something that most of us take for granted. It’s not just about NOT being smelly.

How do we cleanse our mind & our soul? How do we make an opportunity to rid ourselves of all our unnecessary cares and worries? Most of us take showering for granted, until we can’t do it. This morning was a renewal for me.

Each day is a new beginning. Heck, each moment is. Yet at times, we accept negativity in our lives because it seems easier to take it in ‘deal’ with it than to remove toxic situations, people, & relationships. Why do we allow these toxic situations??? We would never pour acid over our skin, yet we do this to our mind, heart & soul daily.

Cleansing of the heart & soul is super important, just like the outside of our bodies, we MUST take care of the inside. WE ARE the aggregative of our hearts, bodies & souls — nothing short of that, so why not treat the inside as well as we do the outside?

Each day that we are here on earth, we have a new opportunity to essentially be reborn. We have the opportunity to start fresh, each & every day, yet most of us have at least periods of time where we are totally consumed by the world around us & don’t consider the awesome opportunity that we have in waking up each day and starting the new day. Bad habits? YEP.

Remember that each moment is a new opportunity to make a better decision, whether it’s personal opportunities or professional opportunities YOU OWN your decisions. Only you can control yourself & how you respond to others.

Make each moment a moment of opportunity to improve — don’t squander time — it’s not yours to own — time stops for no one.

I’d love to hear back from you!
